If you are looking for Kindergarten March crafts then I’ve got you covered. I know how important it is to have ready-made activities for your pre-k, kindergarten, and first-grade students that are developmentally appropriate. It can be extremely frustrating to buy crafts, only to find out that they aren’t meant for our earliest learners or don’t have easier options for our littles. Pre-k, kindergarten, and even first grade are in a league all their own.
I have some fun and easy crafts that will let you stop worrying about activities and get back to teaching. Kindergarten March crafts are a fun way to work on fine motor skills and I’ve added optional writing activities that up the rigor as needed. These are completely optional. Students can draw or write on the writing pages. The drawing portion is perfect for preschoolers and the writing portion is great for kindergarten and first-grade students.
Here are some suggestions along with read-aloud choices that fit each craft perfectly.
1. Leprechaun Craft
This fun and engaging kindergarten March craft looks lucky! It is super simple and comes with tons of differentiated writing activities that make this ideal for your earliest learners. It goes perfectly with the story The Night Before St. Patrick’s Day which is where you will find this craft.
2. The Little Red Hen
This is craft is perfect if you are going over fables and fairy tales in March. You can find the book companion for The Little Red Hen here.
3. Tortoise and the Hare Craft
This tortoise craft happens to be one of my favorites. He is so cute and perfect for kindergarten fables. This craft works great in March. Even if you are just doing the life cycle of a turtle unit. This is in my book companion for the Tortoise and the Hare which is here.
4. Cinderella
Now that we’ve covered fables this month, here’s a fairytale that you’ll want to include this March. This is a book companion all about Cinderella.
5. The Bad Seed
I absolutely love this book. The author does an amazing job of bringing the character to life through his words. It’s perfect for March since it’s all about seeds. It pairs perfectly with a plants unit for science. You can find the Bad Seed book companion here.
There is nothing more fun than crafts in kindergarten. Adding writing pieces make this not only fun and engaging, but rigorous as well. All of these fun crafts have writing prompts to go along with them.
