Kindergarten Lesson Plans
When your kindergarten lesson plans for reading are organized and structured into a routine, you will find that your class runs smoother. The students know what to expect each day and they will be much more successful! These lesson plans have a very clear outline which continues throughout the series and I have also included scripts which are GREAT for new teachers!
Here is the outline of each day of the week.
Monday- Read the story and focus on the characters and setting.
Tuesday- Read the story and focus on the vocabulary.
Wednesday- Read the story and focus on retelling the story and sequencing events.
Thursday- Focus on the problem and solution and/or text- dependent questions.
Friday- There is a writing craft and a kindergarten-friendly comprehension assessment.
Here is an overview of what get each month. It is more than just lesson plans. It is everything you need to cover the book for a week long study.
These lesson plans are editable so that you can change anything you need to meet your needs. Also, you can also just copy and paste them into your own lesson plan template for ease! It will save hours of time planning. Each piece of this packet is designed to save time and set up a routine that you will use all year long. Here is example of the kindergarten lesson plans that are included with the David Goes To School week-long study.
If you use these plans, please leave a comment below about what you like and/or would like added and if you are looking for more information on starting the year off right then check out this post here. First Week Of Kindergarten
