If you are looking for Kindergarten May crafts then I’ve got you covered. I know how important it is to have ready-made activities for your pre-k, kindergarten, and first-grade students that are developmentally appropriate. It can be extremely frustrating to buy crafts, only to find out that they aren’t meant for our earliest learners or don’t have easier options for our littles. Pre-k, kindergarten, and even first grade are in a league all their own.
I have some fun and easy crafts that will let you stop worrying about activities and get back to teaching. Kindergarten May crafts are a fun way to work on fine motor skills and I’ve added optional writing activities that up the rigor as needed. These are completely optional. Students can draw or write on the writing pages. The drawing portion is perfect for preschoolers and the writing portion is great for kindergarten and first-grade students.
Here are some suggestions along with read-aloud choices that fit each craft perfectly.
1. Sharks !
I have a confession. I may have been a shark fanatic as a kid but most kids are. This fun and engaging kindergarten May craft is perfect for shark week or any time you want a non-fiction unit. This craft is super simple and comes in my book companion with the non-fiction reader Sharks! by Anne Schrieber. You can find that here.

2. Pirates
This is craft is perfect if you are going over pirates in May. You can find the book companion for How I Became a Pirate here… which is one of my favorite kindergarten stories.

3. Farm Craft
This farm-themed craft is of my favorites. He is so cute and perfect for May and goes along with the story Duck On a Tractor. This book companion can be found here.

4. Nerdy Bird
Now that we’ve covered pirates and farming, here’s a fun SEL-themed book for May. This is a book companion all about acceptance. You can find the Nerdy Birdy book companion here.

5. Summer Vacation
May is the perfect time to begin thinking about vacation. This craft is the perfect companion to The Night Before Summer Vacation. Students can write about where they plan to go or where they would like to go! Find it Here.

There is nothing more fun than crafts in kindergarten. Adding writing pieces make this not only fun and engaging, but rigorous as well. All of these fun crafts have writing prompts to go along with them.
