September Lesson Plan Overview
First of all, these September lesson plans for kindergarten are designed with new teachers in mind. Also, they are editable in PowerPoint. This makes it easy to change and adjust anything you need. The lesson plans also have a scripted version. You get a script each day to help guide you through the lesson. Each week includes an overview.
Kindergarten Reading Routine
When your kindergarten lesson plans for reading are organized and structured into a routine, you will find that your class runs smoother. The students know what to expect each day and they will be much more successful! These lesson plans have a very clear outline which continues throughout the series and I have also included scripts which are GREAT for new teachers!
Here is the outline of each day of the week.
Monday- Read the story and focus on the characters and setting.
Tuesday- Read the story and focus on the vocabulary.
Wednesday- Read the story and focus on retelling the story and sequencing events.
Thursday- Focus on the problem and solution and/or text- dependent questions.
Friday- There is a writing craft and a kindergarten-friendly comprehension assessment.
These lesson plans are editable so that you can change anything you need to meet your needs. Also, you can also just copy and paste them into your own lesson plan template for ease! It will save hours of time planning. Here is example of the kindergarten lesson plans that are included with the Library Lion week-long study.
